　　Drink Driving

　　Drink driving is a very serious issue in China. In the first half of 2009, China's Drink driving cases jumped by 9%. In Beijing alone, 97 people were killed by drunk drivers by the end of July in 2009. The deadly result has spark repeated crackdowns on drink driving and heated debates on whether offenders deserve harsher punishrnent.

　　醉酒駕駛在中國是一個非常嚴重的問題。在2009年前半年，中國的醉酒駕駛案件增加了9%。單在北京，截止到2009年7月底就有97人死于醉酒駕駛的司機之手。這一致命的結果激發(fā)了對醉酒駕駛的不斷制裁，引起了對觸犯法規(guī)者是否應受到更嚴厲的懲罰這一問題激烈的爭論。

　　There are a number of reasons for the increase of drink driving in China. Firstly, China's highly sociable but sometimes excessive drinking habits should be mentioned. People often persuade others to drink more, even if they know their friends may drive when drunk. Secondly, the punishrnent for drink driving is not harsh enough. Many people argue that the cost of drink driving is too low, so drunk drivers do it again and again.

　　中國醉酒駕駛的增長有很多原因。首先，應該提一提，中國人交際廣泛，但有時有過度飲酒的習慣。人們通常會勸別人多喝點，即使他們知道自己的朋友喝醉了以后可能會駕車。其次，對醉酒駕駛的懲罰還不夠嚴厲。許多人認為醉酒駕駛的成本太低，所以醉酒司機一次又一次地這么做。

　　More severe punishment is defrnitely necessary to curb drink driving. No matter who the driver is, or what the reason is, any drunk driver should be severely punished. But we also need to attach greater importance to education. Anyway, prevention is always the best measure. (176 words)

　　更嚴厲的懲罰對遏制醉酒駕駛來說絕對有必要。不管司機是誰，或者出于什么原因，任何醉酒司機都應該被嚴厲地懲罰。但是我們還需要對教育教導加以更大的重視。不管怎樣，預防總是最好的措施。
