　　解析：本題考查的是"the+adj.比較級(jí)，the+adj.比較級(jí)"的結(jié)構(gòu)，表示"越......越......"。The denser在句中充當(dāng)表語。當(dāng)表語前置，主語和系動(dòng)詞用正常語序即可。當(dāng)前置的表語為形容詞詞組、介詞短語等，主語和系動(dòng)詞就要倒裝。如：To north of the town was little village，where I spent my childhood in happiness.(在這個(gè)小城鎮(zhèn)的北邊有一個(gè)小村莊，我在那兒幸福地度過了我的童年。)

　　5. it not been for the reservoir解析：由于句首已經(jīng)給出Had，那么這里就是考查虛擬語氣省略if引起的主謂倒裝。由主句時(shí)態(tài)可知，從句情況與過去事實(shí)相反，因此用過去完成時(shí)態(tài)。另外，如果句首倒裝的條件句含有否定詞not，且had提前，一般不可使用省略式n't，而應(yīng)將not置于條件句之后。本題意為：若不是有水庫，我們絕不能戰(zhàn)勝干旱。
