“患病”的不同表達(dá)法

　　She has been ill for three days. 她已經(jīng)病了三天了。

　　Tom was ill with a heart attack. 湯姆患了心臟病。

　　2. fall ill （ with ）“害病”，“生起病來(lái)”，指從無(wú)病到有病的轉(zhuǎn)換（美國(guó)英語(yǔ)中用 fall sick ）。這種表達(dá)法通常不能與表示一段時(shí)間的狀語(yǔ)連用。例如

　　Her brother fell ill with pneumonia yesterday. 她的兄弟得了肺炎。

　　Tell her not t overwork herself， in case she should fall ill. 告訴她不要過(guò)度勞累，以免生病。

　　與 fall ill 同義的還有（ l ） become ill （ of ）（屬書(shū)面語(yǔ)）（ 2 ） be taken ill （美國(guó)人常用）（ 3 ） get ill/ sick （特別是在口語(yǔ)里，與 get well “好了”反義）。例如：

　　She became ill of a nervous disorder several days ago. 幾天前她患了神經(jīng)錯(cuò)亂癥。

　　He was suddenly taken ill. 他突然病了。

　　Henry gets very ill. 亨利病得很厲害。

　　3. “ maker sb ill ”和“ make oneself ill ”意為“使……生病，因……而得病”。其主語(yǔ)常常是致病的原因。例如

　　This meat made me ill. 這肉使我害了病。

　　he made himself ill by constantly drinking. 他因經(jīng)常飲酒而生病了。

　　4. “ catch/ get/ take/ have ＋疾病名稱(chēng)”表示“染上……病”，多用于口語(yǔ)中。書(shū)面語(yǔ)中常用“ be attacked by （ with ）”或“ be affected by （ with ）”。例如

　　（ 1 ） I didn‘t catch / get / take influenza. 我沒(méi)有染上流行性感冒。

　　（ 2 ） The Frenchman caught a bad cough. 那個(gè)法國(guó)人咳嗽得很厲害。

　�。� 3 ） have a cold 傷風(fēng)了（ c.f. catch （ a ） cold 著涼）； have a headache 患頭痛； have a toothache 患牙痛； have a stomachache 患胃痛

　�。� 4 ） He was attacked by influenza. 他得了流行性感冒。

　�。� 5 ） Once a man is affected by the common cold， he usually suffers from cough and fever. 一旦得了感冒，人通常會(huì)咳嗽、發(fā)燒。

　　5. suffer from…… 意為“患……病”：“因患……病而感不適”。例如

　　Last night Jane suffered much from a headache. 昨晚珍妮頭痛很厲害。

　　He sometimes suffers from ill-health. 他時(shí)常受疾病的折磨。

　　6. feel bad （ sick ）意為“感覺(jué)不舒服”，多用于美國(guó)口語(yǔ)中。例如

　　My head feels very bad this morning. 今天早晨我覺(jué)得頭很痛。

　　7. be so bad 意為“病得很厲害”，多用于英國(guó)口語(yǔ)中。例如

　　You‘re going to fetch the doctor！ Is your mother really so bad？ 你要請(qǐng)醫(yī)生。你的母親果真病得那么厲害嗎？
