  (3)設(shè)置語言情景,組織互動(dòng)教學(xué),操練重點(diǎn)句型,注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生口語表達(dá)能力,體現(xiàn)過程性評(píng)價(jià);

  (4)結(jié)合教學(xué)內(nèi)容進(jìn)行板書設(shè)計(jì),板書設(shè)計(jì)有助于學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)。

  Students can master the usage of the words and sentences and use them in their daily life.

  Teaching procedures:

  Step 1: Warming-up

  1. Greetings. Talk about the weather.

  2. Today is our classmate Tom’s birthday, and let students sing a happy birthday song to him..

  Happy birthday to Tom,

  Happy birthday to you.

  Give students positive evaluation. Then tell them that today our topic is also about “birthday”.

  Step 2: Pre-listening

  1. Draw a picture on the blackboard, and let students guess what it is, then ask them to read after me. Then write the word “birthday” on the blackboard.

  2. Next, the teacher will ask Tom “How old are you?” He may give me the answer “ten” Then I will show some number cards(one to ten), and ask the whole class to read these words. Then write these numbers down on the blackboard.

  3. Ask students to predict what the listening material may talk about.

  Step 3: While-listening

  1. Extensive listening

  Ask students to listen to the tape for the first time and answer one questions “How many people are there in this conversation?”

  2. Intensive listening

  Listen to the tape for the second time and ask students to answer another two questions. “Whose birthday is it? And how old is he?”

  Step4: Post-listening

  Divided students into several groups. Ask students to do a survey about their group members’ birthday using the sentence “How old are you? I am _ten_years old. Happy birthday to you” . After six minutes later, ask one of them acts as the group leader to collect their group members’ birthdays and fill in the chart on the blackboard.

  Step5: Summary and Homework

  Summary: Ask a student to conclude the content of the lesson and summarize with the whole class.

  Homework: sing the “Happy birthday” song to their parents, and ask their parents age using the sentence we have leaned.

  Students can know how to answer others’ questions about ability by using the sentence pattern “I can...”.

  Ability aim:

  Students can improve their intensive listening and extensive listening ability.

  Emotional aims:

  Students can increase their confidence in speaking English.

  Students will have the strong will to improve their ability.

  Key and difficult point:

  Key point: Students can improve their listening about asking and answering the ability.

  Difficult point: Students can use the sentences in their daily life and improve their interests in learning English

  Teaching procedures:

  Step 1: Warming-up

  1. Greetings. Talk about the weather.

  2. Share a tongue twister with the students.

  Can you can a can as a canner can can a can?

  Ask students what word they hear in the tongue twister. They may answer the word “can”. Then tell students today we will learn more about “can” and the title is “what can you do?”.

  Step 2: Pre-listening

  1. Show students the picture about students’ ability like singing and doing kung fu. Then ask the students to predict what they can do. Students may answer they can sing and they can do kung fu. Then let students to listen to the tape and check whether their prediction is right.

  Step 3: While-listening

  1. Extensive listening

  Ask students to listen to the tape for the first time and answer two questions “How many students are there in this conversation and who are they?” and “What can they do?”. Then write down the names and sentences on the blackboard.

  2. Intensive listening

  Listen to the tape for the second time and ask students to fill in the table on the blackboard. Then invite some of them to finish the table and check it.

  

  Step4: Post-listening

  Ask students to do a survey about what they can do. Four students in one group. Five minutes will be given. Then invite the group leader to do the report. The teacher retells one piece of detailed information from the report and gives encouragement.

  Step5: Summary and Homework

  Summary: The teacher and students summarize what we have learnt in this class together.

  Students can express their feelings by using simple past tense in daily communication.

  Emotional aim:

  Students can develop their interest in learning English.

  Step 1: Warming-up

  1. Greetings. Talk about the weather.

  2. Free talk.

  Tell students I went shopping and bought a new dress last weekend. Ask students questions “What about you” or “What did you do last weekend?”. Then invite some of them to share. Some students may give the answer with wrong tense such as “I play basketball last weekend.”. Therefore, I will correct it and let them pay attention to it and tell them today we are going to learn the grammar simple past tense.

  Step 2: Presentation

  1. Show some pictures on the screen and present some words such as “cleaned my room”, “washed my clothes”, “stayed at home” and “watched TV” on the blackboard. Guide students to learn the words.

  2. Ask students to observe these words carefully to find if there are some similarities. Then invite some of them to give answers.

  3. Explain simple past tense to students and summarize the rules of it. Write down the rules on the blackboard.

  4. Read the conversation for students. Ask them to listen carefully and find out how to ask other’s activities in the last week. Write the sentences on the blackboard.

  Step 3: Practice

  1. Do an exercise

  Ask students to write down the past tense of the verbs given on the blackboard.
