　　abandon

　　①abandon 拋棄，離棄。一般指完全和永久地舍棄某人或某物�？捎糜诎�義，也可以用于貶義。書(shū)面語(yǔ)用的多。 The sailors abandoned the burning ship.船員們放棄了著火的船。

　�、赿esert遺棄，離棄。指某人或某物無(wú)人問(wèn)津，或在困難時(shí)或困境中被人背棄。多用于貶義，有時(shí)可引申為“失去”的意思。 All his friends have deserted him when he is in difficulties.在他困難的時(shí)候，他所有的朋友都背棄了他。
