主題、主旨類選擇題

　　這類題包括確定短文的主題(topic or main point)、文章的大意(main idea)、題目(title)等，區(qū)別主要信息與次要信息。

　　在測試中，有些題目是根據(jù)文章中的事實(shí)和細(xì)節(jié)而設(shè)計的，對閱讀理解來說，理解字面意義是最起碼的要求，也就是說起碼應(yīng)該理解文字已明確表達(dá)的信息，當(dāng)然，這里也需要運(yùn)用綜合和判斷的能力。此類題的目的在于考察考生對組成文章的主體部分的理解程度。這類問獍�括询问�?who)、物(what)、時間(when)、地點(diǎn)(where)、文中的數(shù)據(jù)(data)、事情發(fā)生的原因和結(jié)果(cause and effect)等。常見的問題形式有:

　　推論類型選擇題
　　推論、推理類型題要求考生閱讀時，把句子水平的閱讀理解提高到語篇水平的閱讀理解，包括要求考生在宏觀上理解上下文的邏輯關(guān)系、通過分析判斷歸納總結(jié)并概括出合理的結(jié)論、理解作者的態(tài)度、根據(jù)文中內(nèi)容并利用已有的知識來進(jìn)行合理的預(yù)測與推斷。即在考試中要能在理解原文直接陳述觀點(diǎn)的基礎(chǔ)上，領(lǐng)悟作者的言外之意(implication or implied meaning)，進(jìn)行合乎邏輯的推理(making logical inference)，得出一個合理的結(jié)論。所謂合理，是指準(zhǔn)確地從原文中推理，而不是說讀者主觀認(rèn)為的合理。

　　詞匯是語言的建筑材料，這類試題主要測試考生利用上下文猜測生詞的詞義或確定常用詞匯在特定語言環(huán)境中確切含義的能力。出題對象一般為文中的關(guān)鍵詞語，如生詞、多義詞、復(fù)雜句式等。
