1. 完形填空考試首先是測(cè)試考生對(duì)篇章的理解能力。雖然所給出的文章被抽去了20個(gè)詞,但是整篇文章的內(nèi)容仍是可以理解的。如果考生不能理解文章內(nèi)容,就難以將正確的詞填入文中。這也就是完型填空題與以單句形式考核詞匯和語法的實(shí)體的根本區(qū)別。由此可見,考生在作題時(shí)必須時(shí)刻從上下文考慮,部應(yīng)該只看到所添的詞在短語或句子內(nèi)是否可行。因此,在作題時(shí)最好將全文通讀一下,了解了全文的意識(shí)以后在作題。
2. 完形填空考試還測(cè)試考生使用詞匯和語法結(jié)構(gòu)的能力。文章中留出的每一個(gè)空格要求填入一個(gè)詞。考試大綱規(guī)定:“填空的詞項(xiàng)包括結(jié)構(gòu)詞和實(shí)義詞”。結(jié)構(gòu)詞(也稱虛詞,有代詞、冠詞、介詞、連詞、關(guān)系詞等)主要是表示語法結(jié)構(gòu)關(guān)系的,在選用結(jié)構(gòu)詞時(shí)便需要考慮在語法上是否恰當(dāng)。對(duì)實(shí)義詞(名詞、形容詞、數(shù)詞、動(dòng)詞和副詞)的選擇既要看其意思用在句中是否得當(dāng),也要看它與其他詞的搭配關(guān)系是否合適。

中心主題原則:考生應(yīng)充分利用段首句提供的信息,去挖掘文章的思路,尋找文章的脈絡(luò)與線索;
復(fù)現(xiàn)、改寫原則:由于完形填空的文章是一個(gè)意義相關(guān)聯(lián)的語篇,圍繞一個(gè)話題論述因此在行文中詞語的重復(fù)、替代、復(fù)現(xiàn)和同現(xiàn)現(xiàn)象是不可避免的。根據(jù)這個(gè)原則,某一個(gè)空格所對(duì)應(yīng)的答案很可能就是在上下文中復(fù)現(xiàn)或同現(xiàn)的相關(guān)詞,考生可以根據(jù)這些詞之間的有機(jī)聯(lián)系來確定答案;
